Privacy policy.
Plain English. What we collect, what we don’t, and what to do if you want your data removed.
What we collect
Page-view analytics through Google Analytics 4. In regions that require consent before analytics cookies fire (the EU, the UK, and other GDPR-equivalent jurisdictions), the analytics tag is off by default and only loads if you accept. We do not run an account system, and this site does not collect email addresses.
What we don’t collect
The threshold-finder tool runs entirely in your browser. The estate value you type, the state you pick, and the result we show you never leave your device — there is no server-side log of those inputs.
Cookies
Two categories: a strictly-necessary cookie that remembers your consent choice, and Google Analytics 4 cookies that record anonymous usage. We do not run third-party advertising cookies. We are not enrolled in AdSense; if that changes, this section will be updated before any ad cookie is placed.
Affiliate links
When you click a Trust & Will link from this site, Trust & Will’s affiliate network (Impact.com) records the click so we can be credited if you become a customer. Their tracking is disclosed in their own privacy policy. The price you pay does not change because of our referral.
Server logs and Cloudflare
The web server keeps standard access logs — IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp. Logs are retained for 30 days, then deleted. We use them to detect abuse and debug errors.
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which is the network gateway for our hosting. Cloudflare receives the same request metadata (IP, user agent, request path) as our origin server in the course of routing the response back to you, and may cache static responses at its edge. Cloudflare’s privacy and data-protection terms govern that processing; you can read them at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
California — no sale or sharing
We do not sell or share your personal information, as “sell” and “share” are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by CPRA). We do not sell or share data for cross-context behavioral advertising. The only third parties that receive any usage metadata are Google Analytics (when you accept the cookie banner) and Cloudflare (as the network gateway, described above). California residents may submit access, deletion, or opt-out requests via the email below; we honor verifiable consumer requests within 45 days, with one 45-day extension if we need it.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you can request access to or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Write to [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided data through this site, write to the address above and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We post a dated changelog when we update this policy. Material changes — for example, enrolling in AdSense or adding a new third-party processor — will be flagged at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
